The watcher of the stones

Since my last book came out in 2017 I've been developing a huge story project. One part of this project is a character called The Endling. Over the last 5 years I've been creating art to give people a taste of her world, all while building the overall story in the background. I have a lot of art, some of which has already been minted & collected on SuperRare, KnownOrigin & Foundation. But I decided it was time to create a proper collection, and the platform I chose was Foundation. To begin with, I decided to go with the most popular pieces that so far I had been reluctant to mint. They are called 'Duel' and 'Yaeko's Ambush' and are intended to look a little like they are stills from an animated series, even if the aspect ratio doesn't match. Endling's story will be delivered in multiple mediums, and the art pieces are intended as glimpses - hints of something much bigger, and often rendered as a play on those mediums. Meaning - it might look a little like an anime, maybe in the story world there is an anime. Stories within stories, mythologies within mythologies. Tales told around a campfire or on an old VHS tape. And so much more to come...

Reflections At Dawn is a series of artwork (10) that I created between April of 2021 and October of 2021. This series is a visual representation of an answer to the question, "Why do I create?" I've typically got a lot on my plate and my days are pretty stressful. Art is my medicine. There are moments, late at night, that I feel most alive. It is during those small amounts of time that I set aside each day to create, that I can forget about everything else and just let my emotions stream out onto the (digital) canvas. I started my digital art residency at Gazell.io with experiments in digital virtual psychedelic trips. I had no idea how or where they would go, and they went far beyond my expectations. Starting with my 5-HT pattern formulation I was inspired to attain spatial presence, and the illusion of embodiment. I developed a series of digital roller coaster rides, each time playing with the dosage of my 5-HT digital drug to fine-tune the colour frequencies. I experimented with motion, animating on multiple levels and was able to induce a disorientating sensation where it became difficult to discern between forward and backward movement. I pushed the arcs of motion, to stir mind and body. Ultimately, I ceded creative control introducing procedural transformations to enable a generative art expression. Later just like traditional psychedelic rituals to recall snap shots of the experience, I went back to study the animation frame by frame. I discovered an expected process of digital alchemy had generated a series of dynamic biomorphic psychedelic portraits. Exquisitely balanced compositions, both in colour and form, these works represent a new visual language for psychedelic art which is something I’ve been working towards for many years.
