As evening falls over a place of worship, at the heart of Elysium, a satyr tramples through the ruins of a sacred place in the heart of Elysium. A sacred book is discovered under the moonlight by a cloaked visitor. Between its ragged pages contain the secrets of the scribe. That faun which wrote this text dwells in the forest and peers out at its edges by the crumbling Ruins of Ballantine. “I’ve forgotten myself today, but tomorrow I’ll be back” Masks is a semi~autobiographical art and poetry series in collaboration with Mother and Son ~ Stephanie Fuller and Laurence Fuller. “I originally wrote the poem “Babble Babble” as a stream of consciousness poem that went quite deep into some broken shards of myself, as I drifted through LA life in an existential haze at the endless day dream of the land of dreamers. At this time my mother was painting portraits of me from her home in East England. It felt like they were forming out of our discussions. Much of my identity has been bound up with my life as an actor and all the characters that swirl around my subconscious never fully leaving me and in large part fulling up the cupboards of my soul. So the masks we wear or take off was a big part of the piece as a whole and all lead to the decision to frame them within the context of a stage.
